Day 5 - last day of the General assembly.

Today is a very special day as it the last day and friends are saying good-bye to each other; many until 3 years from now when the GF (general assembly) will be in the Oslo area. The GF very much has the atmosphere of a family reunion and get together, we observed many heartfelt reunions and greeting throughout the week.

A stirring message challenging us to go out and make disciples was delieverd by general secretary Ola Tulluan, followed by the Commissioning service for new Missionaries Alf & Kathrine Eggebo who are heading to Bolivia in August along with their 3 children. The commissioning service is very special to the members of the NLM and has remaind unchanged for over 100 years. It consists mainly of many scripture passages on missions and taking the gospel read by various board members with hymns sung in between the readings. Then the missionaries are commissioned by the laying on of hands and prayed over by the board amd many young people who are invited up onto the stage, as the missionaries kneel at the altar.

This service concludes the GF and people depart for home. My wife Hope and I enjoyed this experience very much and I hope you enjoyed these updates. I will include more pictues in the next issue of the BANNER.

God bless!
