The Strand family
Update from Ailand Christian Church, Kobe Japan.
Dear friends in Christ,
We are eager to tell you that our church here on Rokko Island outside of Kobe is about to take its first major step as we are starting our Sunday worship services September first. Please pray that the Lord will bless our ministry, because if not God builds the house its builders labor in vain. Christ himself is the chief cornerstone, so please pray that we may be filled with love, wisdom and submission under the Lord in order to build this church in a way that glorifies His name, and bring people to Christ and the eternal destiny designed for those who believe in Him.
I have had the privilege of studying Christian mission for a number of These days, I am ready to defend my dissertation called "Evangelicals Understanding of Afterlife in Japan." I really believe this is a valuable study because even among the evangelicals there are several different understandings of afterlife, and almost nobody views Hell as a possible destination for their unsaved family members. This is rather discouraging, but on the other hand, it should also renew our calling to be Christ's ambassadors to the Japanese who have the latest model everything but have no peace with the eternal an only living God.
In Christ,
Jonas (4) Thomas (11) Greta and Svein Strand
